Flights into Egypt generally arrive at Cairo International Airport, which is safe and secure for travellers in transit. The popular holiday destinations of Luxor and Aswan also have their own international airports, with international scheduled flights.
Generally it's best to travel in Egypt during the spring (March to May) or in autumn, (September to November) to avoid the hot, dry summer months.

Egypts Capital Cairo
Often the first stop in Egypt is Cairo, a bustling, chaotic city, with an underlying deep history. Islamic Cairo holds a concentration of the greatest medieval Islamic monuments. Modest clothing is essential. Here you will find the well known Khan el-Khalili, Cairo's giant souq (market). The bazaar is full of souveniers, but explore and haggle with the local traders who offer quality Islamic jewellery, clothing, and furniture.
Luxor
The West Bank of Luxor is one of the most awe inspiring landscapes of Egypt, with 18 m high Colossi of Memnon statues, limestone cliff-cut Temple of Hatshepsut at Deir sl-Bahari, and the Valley of Kings, home to the tombs of ancient Egyptian kings.
Aswan and Abu Simbel
In Aswan you can truly experience the majestic Nile, take a felucca(Egyptian sailng boat) tour on the river to explore the Elephantine Island, Kitchener's Island and then onward to glimpse the pink granite mausoleum of Aga Khan.
Further South, the breath taking Abu Simbel Temples await. Only rediscovered in 1813, they are a UNESCO World Heritage site. The complex of temples, dedicated to the Pharaoh Ramsis II "the Great", feature immense statues, and a light and sound show each evening.
